Buying guide

Choose a scissor lift table by the load, the travel and the platform. Send us those three and the floor space, and we confirm the model.

Capacity and edge loads

Standard models lift 300 to 135,000 lb. The Series 35, Compact and TorkLift lines cover most bench and pallet work. The Titan and Super Titan lines take heavy loads, and the Super Titan double long, double wide and quad join two or four scissors for the heaviest. If loads roll on over the side or sit near an edge, say so, because some lines are rated for higher edge loads.

Vehicles and high axle loads go on a ram lift instead, and the other lift types are under lift tables and dock lifts.

Travel

Travel runs from 5 in to 546 in. A single scissor covers most work heights. Double, triple and quad stacked lifts, such as the Series 35 double high and the TorkLift T2 to T4, reach high landings from a small footprint. Most hydraulic models come with controls prewired and the power unit on board, so the lift is lagged to the floor and connected to power. The double pantograph and TorkLift T2 to T4 use a remote power unit.

Platform size

Platforms run from 12 to 186 in wide and 25 to 420 in long. Double long models suit long loads and double wide models suit wide ones. The Series 35 extra narrow fits between other equipment.

Lowered height and loading

The XLR pan style lift lowers to 1/2 inch and the Series 35 low profile to 5 inches, so pallet jacks roll on without a pit. A taller lift needs a pit, a ramp or a fork truck to load it.

Questions

Hydraulic, air or mechanical?

Hydraulic lifts cover most jobs. Air lifts run on shop air with no oil, which suits clean rooms. Mechanical lifts with a chain, ball screw or column actuator hold a height indefinitely and repeat programmed stops.

Can a lift table move between work stations?

Yes. The Series 35 Rover runs on its own battery and rolls on lockable casters, and the Series 35 takes a portability set as an option. For a cart that both drives and lifts, the scissor lift carts lift 1,000 to 2,500 lb.

Can a turntable or tilter go on top of a lift?

Yes. The Series 35 manual and powered industrial turntables and the Series 35 tilter mount on a Series 35 lift table. Each is sold as a separate unit, so ask us to quote them together.

How low can a lift table go?

Pan style lifts lower to 1/2 inch so a pallet jack rolls on with no pit. Each line page lists the lowered height per model, so check it against the way the load gets on.

Most machines go by freight truck from the factory. Parts and smaller items can go by FedEx or UPS. Freight to your ZIP is on your quote before you order. Rush and overnight shipping cost extra. We sell and ship to US addresses only.

EK Tech covers Pony Express tuggers for 2 years on the frame and drive and 1 year on other parts. For DJ Products and Autoquip equipment, ask us.
