Overview

The Pony Express 1062-LS is the 1062 set up for linen and laundry work. It hitches to the linen carts and bulk laundry trucks a facility already owns and tows up to 2,000 lb behind one walking operator.

A 0.6 hp 24 V DC drive runs on foam filled, non-marking tires that do not scuff hospital or hotel floors. The low range tops out at 1.5 mph for service corridors and elevator lobbies, and the high range reaches 3 mph for longer runs. The 35 Ah AGM battery runs up to 8 hours and recharges in about 4 hours from the onboard charger.

The front plate takes the Pony Express hitch range, from pintle and ball couplers to quick release pin hitches, so the 1062-LS can be matched to basket trucks, box trucks, exchange carts and linen cages. Dead man controls, an emergency stop, a horn and an automatic holding brake that holds the load on ramps come standard. For heavier bulk loads the 5,000 lb 1065-LS is the next size up.

Questions

How much linen can the 1062-LS tow?

Up to 2,000 lb of carted linen on a flat floor, with a 30 degree incline rating at a reduced load. Send us the cart weights, the floor and any ramps on the route and we confirm the model in a written quote.

Will it work with our existing linen carts?

Yes, in most cases. The front plate takes pintle, ball, ring and quick release pin hitches. Send us photos of how your carts couple and we quote the matching hitch.

How long does it run on a charge?

Up to 8 hours on the 35 Ah AGM battery. It recharges in about 4 hours from the onboard charger, and a 70 Ah battery option is available.

How fast does the 1062-LS go?

The low range runs 0 to 1.5 mph for corridors and elevator lobbies. The high range runs 0 to 3 mph for longer back of house runs.
